HKIC's 2025 Annual Report reveals total assets of HKD 69.7 billion, investment income exceeding HKD 6.4 billion (+175% YoY), and a net portfolio IRR of 14%. By June 2026, the corporation had invested in over 200 projects, leveraged market capital at a ratio exceeding 1:8, and supported 10 portfolio companies in their Hong Kong IPOs. Beyond robust financial returns, HKIC has generated significant local socio-economic benefits, including the creation of over 7,200 local jobs, massive commercial real estate leasing, and extensive academic collaborations. Moving forward, HKIC will deeply integrate into the national "15th Five-Year Plan," expand into frontier sectors like brain-computer interfaces and commercial aerospace, and continue leveraging its "patient capital" to drive the deep integration of tech and finance, thereby solidifying Hong Kong's comprehensive advantages in serving national strategies and competing in global technological innovation.

On July 16, 2026, the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited ("HKIC") released its 2025 Annual Report, comprehensively disclosing its progress across financial performance, investment layout, and ecosystem building.

Socio-Economic Benefits Continue to Materialize

The annual report shows that for the year ended December 31, 2025, HKIC realized total investment income of over HKD 6.4 billion, an increase of approximately 175% over the previous year, with the investment portfolio achieving a net internal rate of return (IRR) of 14%. As of the end of 2025, the company's total assets reached approximately HKD 69.7 billion, representing a growth of about 9% compared to approximately HKD 64.0 billion in 2024.

As of the end of June 2026, strategically aligning with the national layout for emerging industries, HKIC has accumulated over 200 investment projects. These investments cover three key strategic tracks: hard technology, life and health technology, and new energy and green technology, alongside their related application areas. The capital-attracting effect exceeded a 1:8 ratio; that is, every HKD 1 invested by HKIC has leveraged over HKD 8 in long-term market capital, spanning diverse international market institutions such as overseas sovereign wealth funds and pension funds.

Regarding public listing progress, 10 portfolio companies have already listed in Hong Kong, with more than 30 additional companies having submitted or preparing to submit their Hong Kong IPO applications in 2026.

HKIC's value is reflected not only in financial returns but also in its sustained contributions to Hong Kong's socio-economy. The annual report disclosed that portfolio companies have leased over 500,000 square meters of commercial floor space in Hong Kong, created more than 7,200 local jobs, registered 258 intellectual properties, hosted 316 industry events, and engaged in 170 collaborative projects with local universities. These metrics demonstrate that HKIC's investments are penetrating deeply from the capital level into all socio-economic facets of Hong Kong, including technological innovation, industrial expansion, and local employment.

Clara Chan, Chief Executive Officer of HKIC, stated that HKIC's investment principles and practices are progressively transitioning from capital investment to a new stage of industrial empowerment, ecosystem building, and strategic leadership. She further pointed out that as the initial strategic layout matures, the synergistic effects among the targeted tracks and related application areas continue to deepen. HKIC's investment footprint has evolved from single-project investments to a systematic ecosystem upgrade, forming a coordinated developmental pattern of "points, lines, and planes." By connecting individual investment projects into robust industrial chains, HKIC further promotes the deep integration of the innovation, industrial, capital, and talent chains to realize economic and social value where "one plus one is far greater than two."
