Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection HKEX IPO filing lapses; No. 1 in waste-to-energy efficiency in China
NewTimeSpace News: Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. submitted its listing application to HKEX on 13 February 2026, which has lapsed after six months. CICC and CITIC Securities acted as the original joint sponsors.
The Company is a provider of professional solutions for comprehensive waste treatment and resource utilisation, with core businesses covering clean waste incineration for power generation, comprehensive treatment of multiple waste streams, municipal solid waste transfer and kitchen waste resource utilisation. According to Frost & Sullivan, the Changsha Environmental Protection Industrial Park is one of the largest comprehensive environmental protection parks in China, with a combined daily treatment capacity of 10,600 tonnes of municipal solid waste. Ranked by average grid-connected electricity per tonne of waste, the Company ranked first among all waste-to-energy enterprises in China in 2024.
The Company is actively advancing its overseas strategy and has established a presence in Central Asia. In 2024, it signed agreements with local authorities in Kyrgyzstan to develop the Bishkek project (Phase I commenced operation in December 2025), and has signed agreements for projects in Osh and the Issyk-Kul region. In July 2025, it signed a memorandum of understanding, followed by an investment agreement in August to develop similar projects in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
