Tangji Medical’s Hong Kong IPO Application Lapsed, Focusing on Endoscopic Weight Loss and Metabolic Treatment Devices
Newtimespace News: The listing application submitted by Hangzhou Tangji Medical Technology Co., Ltd. to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 9 February 2026 has lapsed after the six-month validity period expired, with ICBC International and Caitong International serving as the original joint sponsors.
Founded in 2016, the China-based medical device enterprise specialises in innovative minimally invasive solutions for the treatment and full-cycle management of metabolic diseases including obesity, MASH and Type 2 diabetes. According to Frost & Sullivan data, China’s obese population hit 224 million in 2024 and is expected to expand to 332 million by 2034. Among obese patients, around 55.5 million suffer from MASH and approximately 56.4 million have Type 2 diabetes.
The Company’s flagship product, the Gastric Bypass Stent System (GBS), is an endoscopic device for weight loss and metabolic therapy and has achieved commercialisation. The Company has also obtained approvals for two matching accessory products and one digital health management platform. The global EBMT device market size is forecast to grow from USD162 million in 2024 to USD832 million in 2029, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.7%. The corresponding Chinese market is expected to expand from RMB12.7 million in 2024 to RMB782 million in 2029, with a CAGR of 128.0%.
