Zhongtai International Securities Limited pointed out that in October, Hong Kong stocks maintained a weak and fluctuating pattern amid multiple pulling expectations, with the market's focus of speculation shifting from valuation repair to the delivery of earnings fundamentals. On the external front, first, the 10-year US Treasury yield has remained at 5.0%-5.2%, continuously suppressing the valuations of Hong Kong growth stocks; second, the AI narrative logic has shifted from a "computing power story" to "capital returns". On the internal front, market expectations for the pace of domestic consumption recovery have been lowered, and the third-quarter operating data disclosed by some leading optional consumption companies was weak, which has also become a factor suppressing sector sentiment.
Zhongtai International Securities Limited also stated that it overweights information technology, energy, and healthcare in November. (1) Information technology: after both valuations and positions fell in October, further downside is limited; upstream hardware companies in the AI industry chain have sufficient orders, and profit delivery is expected; (2) Energy: geopolitical conflict risks in the Middle East are pushing up traditional energy prices; European natural gas inventories are at historical lows, with the storage rate at about 75% at the end of October versus more than 80% a year earlier; Indonesia has imposed export controls on coal, and this year's production target is lower than last year's actual output; (3) Healthcare: leading innovative drug companies have seen good product sales in the second half of the year, and CXO companies have ideal new order intake.
