UBS believes that the growth momentum generated by the AI boom is expected to peak around the end of 2026 or early 2027. The bank noted that major Chinese indices are down 18% year-to-date, that its gauge of AI-related technology hardware stocks has seen its year-to-date gain shrink to just 9%, that net positioning has returned to early-year levels, and that short positions in Hong Kong equities stand at their highest level to date; it added, however, that earnings growth in the technology hardware sector remains strong.
