ASCLETIS-B (01672.HK): Weekly oral peptide data positive
- Both combinations are built on ASC36o: ASC36_37o FDC targets amylin, GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors, while ASC36_35o FDC targets amylin, GLP-1 and GIP.
- In non-human primates, the ASC36 half-life rose from about 7 days as a monotherapy to about 8.3 days and 8.8 days in the two combinations, with bioavailability rising from 6% to 8% to above 10% for both.
NewTimeSpace News: On 20 October 2026, Ascletis Pharma Inc. (stock code: 01672) reported positive preclinical data for its once-weekly oral peptide pipeline. Lead candidate ASC36o, a first-in-class oral amylin receptor agonist tablet in a US Phase I study, showed a half-life of 167 hours (about 7 days) and oral bioavailability of 6% to 8% in non-human primates at steady state.
Two first-in-class once-weekly oral fixed-dose combinations based on ASC36o extended its half-life to about 8.3 days and 8.8 days, with bioavailability both above 10%. ASC36_37o FDC targets amylin, GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors, while ASC36_35o FDC targets amylin, GLP-1 and GIP. In a head-to-head diet-induced obesity rat study, ASC36 cut weight 32% and 91% more than eloralintide and petrelintide. ASC37o and ASC35o are expected to file FDA IND applications in the fourth quarter of 2026.
