RIBOLIFE-B (06938.HK): files EU Phase I trial for obesity drug RBD3133

NewTimeSpace News: On 8 October 2026, Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd. (stock code: 06938) announced that the Company has submitted the Phase I clinical trial application in the EU for its INHBE-targeting siRNA product RBD3133 Injection for overweight and obesity as its therapeutic indication.

According to the announcement, RBD3133 Injection is designed to selectively silence INHBE, a gene encoding the protein activin E. Human genetic studies have demonstrated that individuals carrying naturally occurring loss-of-function variants in INHBE exhibit healthier fat distribution, improved metabolic characteristics and lower estimated risk of coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes, supporting INHBE as a promising therapeutic target for obesity and related metabolic diseases.

According to the announcement, the Phase I study is a randomised, placebo-controlled trial designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of subcutaneously administered RBD3133 in participants with overweight or obesity, and will provide the first assessment of RBD3133 in humans. The Company stated that RBD3133 is a key milestone in its siRNA product development portfolio in the cardiovascular and metabolic disease area and is expected to become a cornerstone therapy for weight-loss-related cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, being its first drug candidate in the obesity therapeutic field.
