GOLDENSOLAR (01121.HK): Dometic Solar Awning Partnership Enters Field Testing; Cell Efficiency Verified at 28.2%

On 24 Sep 2026, GOLDENSOLAR (01121.HK) said its Dometic solar awning project entered field testing; cell efficiency verified at 28.2%; no supply contract yet.

NewTimeSpace News: On 24 September 2026, Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings Limited (the "Company") voluntarily published a business update on its solar awning partnership with Dometic. Since 2024, Eco-Dynamic Tech Inc, the Group's US-incorporated subsidiary, has been working with Dometic Group AB, a leading global recreational vehicle ("RV") manufacturer, under a structured seven-phase scope of work to develop the application of the Group's proprietary solar panel technology in Dometic RV awning products. Preliminary sample evaluation, durability testing under the added weight of panels, and the first field deployment test unit have all been successfully completed, and the project has now entered the field trial and power testing phase, validating the solar panel and awning assembly against Dometic's engineering standards.

The announcement disclosed that the panels use the Group's proprietary hybrid back-contact solar cells, independently verified by a third-party laboratory at 28.2% conversion efficiency — among the highest recorded for commercial flexible solar applications — and are being validated in parallel under Dometic's production processes, including sewing and laminating. On the market, per the RV Industry Association, North American RV wholesale shipments are expected to reach about 349,000 units in 2026, a third consecutive year of growth; per Dataintelo Consulting, the RV awning market was about US$1.8bn in 2025 and is expected to exceed US$3bn by the early 2030s, with solar-enabled awnings the fastest-growing segment. Dometic is a recognised leading OEM awning supplier; the Group is also working with Dometic's Zhuhai subsidiary on awning models for the Asia-Pacific, opening a market of nearly 1 million registered RVs.

The Company stated that beyond the first RV project, the scope of work shows further potential applications including patio awnings, slide-out topper awnings, the Dometic 9500 cassette series and marine uses, while the Group is separately advancing residential solar awning and balcony PV projects. Key next steps include finalising technical and commercial plans and contract terms, followed by trial production, certification, with first customer shipments as the goal; as of the date of the announcement, the Group has not concluded any supply contract or binding commercial terms with Dometic, and the board reminds shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution.
