On 9 September 2026, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (03996.HK) announced that its subsidiary Northwest Electric Power Design Institute had won the EPC contract for the Phase II of the Shaanxi Investment Zhaoshipan Power Plant (2×1000MW units) with a contract value of RMB 6.44 billion, covering two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units and environmental facilities with a construction period of about 31 months; the contract has not yet been formally signed.

NewTimeSpace News: On 9 September 2026, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (stock code: 03996) announced that its subsidiary, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. of China Power Engineering Consulting Group, had won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of Phase II of the Shaanxi Investment Zhaoshipan Power Plant (2×1000MW units), with a contract value of RMB 6,443,260,000.

According to the announcement, the project includes the construction of two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units, together with environmental protection facilities such as desulphurisation, denitrification and dust removal systems, with a total construction period of approximately 31 months. The announcement cautioned that the relevant parties have not yet formally signed the contract and the project remains subject to uncertainties, and investors should be mindful of investment risks.
