CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK): Phase I clinical trial of SYH2092 for weight management initiated in China

NewTimeSpace News: On 31 August 2026, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (stock code: 01093) announced that the Phase I clinical trial of SYH2092 injection, developed by the Group for weight management in adults who are overweight or obese, has been formally initiated at the first clinical trial centre in China.

SYH2092 is an amylin receptor agonist. According to the announcement, by optimising agonist activity, the product is expected to improve efficacy while maintaining a manageable tolerability profile, and by optimising fatty acid modification, it can prolong the half-life in vivo with the potential to deliver durable weight-loss benefits. Preclinical studies have shown that, compared with several amylin analogues currently in clinical development, the product demonstrates higher target agonist activity, significant weight-loss effects and sustained weight-maintenance effects.

The Group obtained the drug clinical trial approval notice for the product from the National Medical Products Administration in August 2026 and initiated the Phase I clinical trial after approval. The Phase I trial aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of single-dose administration of the product in healthy participants. The product is expected to bring significant clinical benefits to weight management in obese patients and improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and participant recruitment and screening for the Phase I clinical trial are being actively progressed.
