CUMENSION-B (01477.HK): First Patient Dosed in Phase III Clinical Trial of OT-202 for Dry Eye Disease
NewTimeSpace News: On August 31, 2026, Ocumension Therapeutics (stock code: 01477) announced that the first patient has been dosed in the Phase III clinical trial of OT-202 (spleen tyrosine kinase inhibitor/vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2), an investigational treatment for dry eye disease (DED), conducted in the People's Republic of China.
OT-202 is the Company's self-developed first-in-class drug candidate for moderate-to-severe DED. It acts as a dual-target inhibitor of spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2, producing synergistic anti-inflammatory effects. In the Phase I clinical trial completed in February 2023, OT-202 demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability in healthy adult subjects. The Phase II clinical trial completed enrollment of 213 patients in China in November 2023, with results published in Ophthalmology, a leading international ophthalmology journal, and the trial met its primary endpoint in March 2024.
The announcement noted that the successful dosing of the first patient marks an important milestone in OT-202's clinical development in China and reflects the Group's commitment to advancing innovative therapies for DED patients.
