AP RENTALS (01496.HK): Expects H1 Loss After Tax of HKD 10-13 Million

NewTimeSpace News: On 31 August 2026, AP RENTALS (01496.HK) issued a profit warning, expecting an H1 loss after tax of approximately HKD 10-13 million (versus a profit of approximately HKD 5.1 million a year earlier), driven by an approximately 38.8% decline in Hong Kong equipment rental revenue as the airport third runway works near completion.

NewTimeSpace News: On 31 August 2026, AP Rentals Holdings Limited (stock code: 01496) issued a profit warning. Based on a preliminary review of the unaudited consolidated management accounts for the four months ended 31 July 2026, the Group recorded a loss after tax of approximately HKD 7.8 million, versus a profit after tax of approximately HKD 4.0 million in the corresponding period of 2025.

The announcement attributed the turnaround mainly to a decrease in equipment rental revenue in Hong Kong of approximately HKD 12.6 million or 38.8% for the four months, primarily due to reduced rental revenue from the Hong Kong International Airport third runway related works as the project approaches completion. The Group expects a loss after tax of approximately HKD 10.0 million to HKD 13.0 million for the six months ending 30 September 2026, versus a profit after tax of approximately HKD 5.1 million in the prior-year period. The interim results announcement is expected to be published by the end of November 2026.
