HK.AI CAPITAL (01140.HK): Appoints Tsang Sze Wai as Executive Director, Former Templeton Executive and CEO of Multiple Nasdaq SPACs
NewTimeSpace News: On 28 August 2026, HK.AI Capital Limited (stock code: 01140) announced that Mr. Tsang Sze Wai had been appointed as an executive director of the Company with effect from 28 August 2026.
According to the announcement, Mr. Tsang, aged 49, has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, private equity, M&A transactions and special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). He obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2017, a second bachelor's degree in law from Tsinghua University in 2006, and a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1998, as well as a graduate certificate in sustainable business from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in 2023. He is a CFA charterholder and a certified environmental, social and governance (ESG) analyst.
Mr. Tsang has served as a non-executive director of Unity GP Holdings International Limited (stock code: 01539) since 2022. Since 2021, he has served as chief executive officer and chairman of a number of Nasdaq-listed SPACs, including Model Performance Acquisition Corp, A SPAC I Acquisition Corp, A SPAC III Acquisition Corp and A Paradise Acquisition Corp, and successfully led the listing of A SPAC II Acquisition Corp. He served as a private equity partner at JVSakk Asset Management Ltd from 2020 to 2023, and as a licensed responsible officer of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong from 2021 to 2023. From 2005 to 2020, he worked at Templeton Asset Management Ltd, an affiliate of Franklin Resources, Inc., successively serving as vice president, executive director, senior executive director, co-head of private equity for North Asia and partner of Templeton Private Equity Partners. He previously served as a vice president at Lehman Brothers, an investment manager at KDB Asia Ltd., an affiliate of Korea Development Bank, and a manager of Chinachem Group.
Mr. Tsang is also actively engaged in public affairs, serving or having served as a founding member and council member of the Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong, an adjudicator of the Market Misconduct Tribunal, an independent expert of the SFC, a member of the CFA Institute Disciplinary Review Committee, a director and board secretary of CFA Society Hong Kong, and an honorary advisor of The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation. His appointment as executive director takes effect from 28 August 2026 until the first annual general meeting of the Company after his appointment, subject to retirement by rotation and re-election in accordance with the Listing Rules and the Company's articles of association. Under his service contract, he is entitled to a director's fee of HKD 720,000 per annum. As of the date of the announcement, Mr. Tsang has no interest in the shares of the Company.
