HENGRUI PHARMA (01276.HK): SHR-7590 Injection Receives Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease

NewTimeSpace News: On 12 August 2026, HENGRUI PHARMA (01276.HK) disclosed that its subsidiary Guangdong Hengrui received the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice for SHR-7590 Injection, approving clinical trials for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease; the drug is an in-house developed therapeutic biologic with no same-target drug approved globally, and cumulative R&D investment of approximately RMB 32.5 million.

NewTimeSpace News: On 12 August 2026, Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (stock code: 01276) disclosed via an overseas regulatory announcement that its subsidiary, Guangdong Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., received the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice issued by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for SHR-7590 Injection, and will commence clinical trials in the near future. The application was accepted on 20 May 2026, with acceptance numbers CXSL2600550 and CXSL2600551, and the proposed indications are ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

SHR-7590 Injection is a therapeutic biologic independently developed by the Company. In animal models of inflammatory bowel disease, it effectively suppresses inflammation and improves disease scores and intestinal histopathology, and no drug targeting the same mechanism has been approved globally. As of the disclosure date, the cumulative R&D investment in the project is approximately RMB 32.5 million (unaudited). The drug still needs to complete clinical trials and pass NMPA review and approval before it can be manufactured and marketed.
