HENGRUI PHARMA (01276.HK): HRS-4729 Injection Approved for Phase II Clinical Trial in Type 2 Diabetes

NewTimeSpace News: On 12 August 2026, HENGRUI PHARMA (01276.HK) disclosed that HRS-4729 Injection, an in-house developed GLP-1R/GIPR/GCGR tri-agonist polypeptide, received NMPA approval for a Phase II clinical trial in adult type 2 diabetes patients, with a Phase II trial for weight loss also being advanced, and cumulative R&D investment of approximately RMB 81.6 million.

NewTimeSpace News: On 12 August 2026, Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (stock code: 01276) disclosed via an overseas regulatory announcement that the Company and its subsidiary, Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., received the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice issued by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for HRS-4729 Injection, approving a Phase II clinical trial in adult patients with type 2 diabetes. The application was accepted on 14 May 2026, with acceptance numbers CXHL2600577 and CXHL2600578.

HRS-4729 Injection is a polypeptide drug independently developed by the Company and a GLP-1R/GIPR/GCGR tri-agonist. By activating the three receptors, it suppresses appetite, delays gastric emptying, enhances insulin sensitivity and promotes energy expenditure, achieving weight loss, glycemic control and improved glucolipid metabolism. A Phase II clinical trial of the project for weight loss is also being advanced, and no drug of the same class has been approved globally. The cumulative R&D investment in the project is approximately RMB 81.6 million (unaudited).
