GRAPHEX GROUP (06128.HK): Natural graphite anode technology "EcoFlux" wins 2026 R&D 100 Award

NewTimeSpace News: On 10 August 2026, GRAPHEX GROUP (06128.HK): The Group's research project EcoFlux has won the 2026 R&D 100 Award; the technology revolutionises natural graphite anode material production and was jointly developed by Graphite Innovation and Technology and ASTRI, controlling anode expansion below 5% and enabling 20-minute fast charging, with two patent applications filed in China and the United States and industrialisation planned as soon as practicable.

NewTimeSpace News: On 10 August 2026, Graphex Group Limited (stock code: 06128) published a voluntary announcement, announcing that the Group's research project "EcoFlux" has won the 2026 R&D 100 Award, a strong recognition of the team's pursuit of excellence and innovation in the battery industry.

EcoFlux is a technology that revolutionises the production of natural graphite anode materials, jointly developed by Graphite Innovation and Technology Limited, an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) through the Innovation and Technology Fund scheme of Hong Kong. Natural graphite anode materials produced with EcoFlux redefine spherical natural graphite through hard carbon filling and fast-ion coating technologies combined with an environmentally friendly water-based process; the innovative technology controls anode expansion below 5%, enables fast charging within 20 minutes, enhances reversible capacity and nearly doubles cycle life, providing a cost-effective and high-performance solution for fast charge-discharge, long-life and high-energy-density battery applications. The Group has filed two patent applications for the EcoFlux technology in China and the United States.

Established in 1963, the R&D 100 Award is the only science and technology award competition recognising new commercial products, technologies and materials that are technologically significant and available for sale or licensing, widely known as the "Oscars of Innovation", with past winners including Fortune 500 companies, federally funded research institutions, and academic and government laboratories. ASTRI, the largest government-funded R&D centre established by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000, has become a key force and super-connector driving innovation and technology development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area as well as the global innovation ecosystem. The Company stated that it adheres to its strategy of achieving leadership in the graphene business through innovation, and intends to industrialise the Group's production of natural graphite anode materials using the EcoFlux technology as soon as practicable.
