Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (01276.HK): HRS5580 for Injection Obtains Clinical Trial Approval Notice

NewTimeSpace News: On 29 July 2026, Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (01276.HK) released an announcement. Its subsidiary Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Limited obtained the Clinical Trial Approval Notice for HRS5580 for Injection issued by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The authority has approved the initiation of Phase II clinical trials to evaluate the drug for preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting in combination with Palonosetron Hydrochloride Injection.

According to the announcement, the drug is a selective NK-1 receptor antagonist. It exerts antiemetic effects by blocking the binding of substance P to NK-1 receptors with high affinity, and features differentiated strengths including high solubility, favourable safety profile and long-lasting efficacy. As of the date of the announcement, the cumulative unaudited R&D investment for this project stood at approximately RMB 57.7 million.
