JACOBIO-B (01167.HK): Pan-KRAS Inhibitor JAB-23E73 in Combination with Chemotherapy Completes First Patient Dosing in China for Phase Ib/III First-Line Treatment of KRAS-Mutant Pancreatic Cancer
NewTimeSpace News: JACOBIO-B (01167.HK) announced on 20 July that its pan-KRAS inhibitor JAB-23E73 combined with nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine completed first patient dosing in China for a Phase Ib/III clinical trial as first-line therapy for KRAS-mutant pancreatic cancer. Earlier Phase I data showed an ORR of 38.5% with favourable safety profile. AstraZeneca has obtained exclusive global rights (excluding mainland China), where the two parties co-develop and co-commercialise the candidate. The Company cautions uncertainties exist in drug development.
NewTimeSpace News: On 20 July 2026, JACOBIO-B (01167.HK) released a voluntary announcement. The Phase Ib/III clinical trial evaluating JAB-23E73, the Group’s pan-KRAS inhibitor, in combination with nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine as first-line treatment for patients with KRAS-mutant pancreatic cancer has administered the first patient in China.
According to interim Phase I clinical data cut-off 15 January 2026, a total of 42 Chinese patients with solid tumours who had received at least two prior lines of therapy were enrolled. Only 11.9% (5/42) experienced Grade 3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs), with no Grade 4–5 TRAEs observed. No Grade 3 or higher rashes, mucositis, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea were reported. Among 13 evaluable pancreatic cancer patients (2 second-line, the rest ≥ third-line) treated at doses ≥160 mg, the objective response rate (ORR) reached 38.5%. The candidate demonstrated well-established safety and tolerability and promising preliminary anti-tumour activity.
JAB-23E73 is an oral pan-KRAS inhibitor independently discovered by JACOBIO-B. The Group has granted AstraZeneca exclusive global licensing rights excluding mainland China, where the two parties will jointly conduct clinical development and commercialisation. KRAS mutations occur at an extremely high frequency in pancreatic cancer, and the launch of this trial marks a critical milestone for the candidate.
