NewTimeSpace News: Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited issued a voluntary announcement dated 8 July 2026. Chia Tai Tianqing, a subsidiary of the Group, has executed an exclusive licensing agreement with AstraZeneca for TQC3721, a self-developed PDE3/4 inhibitor.
Pursuant to the agreement, the Group grants AstraZeneca an exclusive licence to develop, manufacture and commercialise the product outside China, and AstraZeneca will also obtain global exclusive rights for specific development programmes. The Group is entitled to an upfront payment of USD200 million, potential aggregate development, regulatory and sales milestone payments capped at USD1.9 billion, as well as tiered royalties of up to double-digit percentages calculated on annual net sales.
TQC3721 is an inhaled dual PDE3/4 inhibitor independently developed by the Group. It delivers synergistic bronchodilation and anti-inflammatory effects via balanced inhibition of PDE3 and PDE4. The candidate demonstrated best-in-class potential in Phase IIb studies for COPD. Its nebulised suspension is undergoing Phase III clinical trials in China, while the dry powder inhaler formulation is advancing through Phase II clinical development in parallel. This collaboration marks the Group’s second licensing deal with a multinational pharmaceutical enterprise this year, following the cooperation inked with Sanofi in February.
