Perfect Optronics (08311.HK): Fair Value of Mobvoi Holdings Drops to HK$5.58 Million; Down 44% from Year-End

Perfect Optronics expects to recognize an estimated fair value loss of approximately HK$4.34 million on its Mobvoi investment for the six months ended June 30, 2026, narrowing from a loss of HK$7.06 million in the same period last year. The fair value of its Mobvoi holdings dropped to approximately HK$5.58 million from HK$9.91 million at year-end, and the figures remain unaudited as consolidated results are being prepared.

Perfect Optronics Limited (08311.HK) issued an inside information announcement regarding its investment in Mobvoi Inc. (02438.HK). As of June 30, 2026, the group held 17,698,220 ordinary shares of Mobvoi, classified as financial assets at fair value through profit or loss in the group's consolidated financial position.

Based on the closing price of Mobvoi shares on the Stock Exchange on June 30, 2026, the company estimated that the fair value of the group's Mobvoi holdings was approximately HK$5,575,000 as of June 30, 2026, compared to approximately HK$9,911,000 recorded as of December 31, 2025.

Accordingly, the board estimated that the group may recognize an estimated fair value loss of approximately HK$4,336,000 on financial assets at fair value through profit or loss for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared to a fair value loss of approximately HK$7,060,000 recognized for the six months ended June 30, 2025.

The announcement noted that the estimated fair value loss has not been audited or reviewed by the company's auditors or the audit committee, and the group's consolidated financial results for the current period are still being prepared.
