EVEREST MED(01952.HK): Enters Commercialization Cooperation with Hainan Herui for Budesonide Enteric Capsules
NewTimeSpace News: Everest Medicines Limited (01952.HK) announced that it has reached a commercialization cooperation deal with Hainan Herui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in respect of Budesonide Enteric Capsules. The product obtained marketing approval from the NMPA in December 2025, and the Company will be responsible for its commercialization upon its launch in the Chinese mainland market.
NewTimeSpace News: Everest Medicines Limited (01952.HK) released a voluntary announcement on 24 June 2026, disclosing that the Company has entered into a commercialization cooperation agreement with Hainan Herui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. covering Hainan Herui’s Budesonide Enteric Capsules. The product was granted marketing approval by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in December 2025.
Pursuant to the cooperation terms, Hainan Herui’s Budesonide Enteric Capsules will be launched in the Chinese mainland market, with Everest Medicines undertaking full commercialization responsibilities. The Company will provide rigorous technical guidance and quality audits covering Hainan Herui’s production and supply processes. This cooperation will expand treatment options for patients by complementing Nefecon® and Hainan Herui’s Budesonide Enteric Capsules.
Nefecon® is an oral targeted budesonide delayed-release capsule specially developed for patients with IgA nephropathy. Adopting a proprietary dual delayed and sustained-release formulation technology, it delivers budesonide to the terminal ileum to reduce the production of galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1), a key driver of IgA nephropathy. In June 2019, Everest Medicines entered an exclusive licensing agreement with Calliditas Therapeutics, securing development and commercialization rights of Nefecon® in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea.
