NewTimeSpace News: SEM Holdings Limited (09929.HK) issued a voluntary announcement on 12 June 2026. The Group will continue to focus on its core electrical and mechanical engineering business in 2026. In view of the current market pressures and challenging business environment in Macao and Hong Kong, the Group will explore opportunities to expand its core business into mainland China in the first half of this year to diversify revenue streams and mitigate the impact of local market fluctuations.
In the meantime, the Board continues to strategically identify viable business opportunities to broaden revenue sources. The Board observes that intellectual property businesses have gained increasing popularity worldwide with substantial market growth in recent years. Further market research conducted by the Group indicates that driven by rising purchasing power and mature supply chains, the intellectual property industry boasts enormous commercial growth potential.
Accordingly, the Group plans to seize business opportunities in the intellectual property sector and engage in IP-related businesses. The Board believes this will create new revenue streams and serve the overall interests of the Company and its shareholders.
The Board emphasises that the preparations for expanding core business into mainland China and launching intellectual property businesses are only at the initial stage, and the aforesaid initiatives may not be realised.
