WuXi AppTec (02359.HK)： Wrongly Added to US DoD 1260H List, to Immediately Challenge and Correct

Newtimespace (newtimespace.com) reports that WuXi AppTec Co., Ltd. (2359.HK) issued a voluntary announcement. The Company noted that on June 8, 2026 (U.S. time), the U.S. Department of Defense erroneously included WuXi AppTec in the formal updated list of "Chinese military companies" designated under Section 1260H. The Company believes that the designation of WuXi AppTec in this updated list, and the purported basis for such designation, are clearly erroneous, and WuXi AppTec will immediately take measures to challenge and correct this erroneous designation.

WuXi AppTec does not meet the statutory criteria for being designated as a "Chinese military company." Given that (i) the Company is not owned, controlled, or affiliated with any military or government entity of the People's Republic of China; (ii) the Company has not provided services to the Chinese military; and (iii) the Company has no association with the Chinese defense industrial base or military-civil fusion program, the alleged basis for including the Company in the 1260H list is completely inconsistent with the facts.
