Keppel: Singapore's First Hydrogen-Ready Combined Cycle Power Plant, Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant, Commences Commercial Operation
NewTimeSpace News: On May 29, 2026, Keppel announced the official commercial launch of Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant (KSC).
As stated in the announcement, this facility is Singapore's first hydrogen-ready Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant with an installed capacity of 600 megawatts. Initially, KSC can operate on a blend of 30% hydrogen and natural gas. Adopting advanced technologies, the plant can be retrofitted to run entirely on low-carbon hydrogen in the future, while retaining the flexibility to switch to fuel oil.
Keppel Asia Infrastructure Fund holds a 70% stake in KSC, and Keppel retains the remaining 30% equity interest.
