CONCORD NE(00182.HK): 1GW Data Center Secures ERCOT Grid Connection Approval, Forays into AI Computing Infrastructure
NewTimeSpace News: Concord New Energy Group Limited (00182.HK) released a voluntary announcement on April 16, 2026, stating that its 1,000-megawatt (1GW) data center development has successfully completed a Large Load Interconnection Study and obtained grid connection approval from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). The approved data center will be collocated with one of the Group’s existing utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects in Texas.
This approval marks a critical milestone in the Group’s strategy to develop sustainably powered digital infrastructure, integrating its deep expertise in renewable energy development with the surging global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure. Power supply has become a core bottleneck constraining the development of AI infrastructure worldwide. Securing large-scale grid connection capacity in the ERCOT market—known for its high technical complexity, intense competition, and stringent approval processes—demonstrates the Group’s strong execution capabilities in power project development, grid access, and large-scale facility delivery.
The Company cautions that the subsequent development of the data center is subject to significant uncertainties, and there is no guarantee that the project will be successfully completed.
