India's Largest Cement Maker UltraTech Announces Acquisition of 26.18% Stake in Sunsure Solarpark

NewTimeSpace News, 18 March,A filing on the Singapore Exchange revealed that UltraTech, India's largest cement manufacturer, announced the acquisition of a 26.18% equity stake in Sunsure Solarpark, aiming to meet the company's green energy needs, optimize energy costs and comply with the requirements of electricity regulations.

NewTimeSpace News: On 18 March 2026, UltraTech issued an announcement disclosing that it has signed an Energy Supply Agreement, a Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreement to acquire a 26.18% equity stake in Sunsure Solarpark.

According to the announcement, the acquisition is a cash transaction with a maximum equity investment of 192 million Indian Rupees, and the acquisition is scheduled to be completed within 180 days from the execution of the relevant agreements. UltraTech stated that the core objectives of this acquisition are to meet the company's green energy demand, optimize energy costs, and at the same time comply with the regulatory requirements for captive power consumption under electricity laws, so as to support the company's sustainable development amid the energy transition.

It is learned that Sunsure Solarpark is a special purpose vehicle focused on the generation and transmission of renewable energy (solar power). Its core business is to build a 60 MWp DC / 40 MW AC captive solar power plant in Charkhari, Uttar Pradesh, India, with an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) as supporting facilities.
