ComfortDelGro to Invest Over S$200 Million to Upgrade Singapore's Driving Education and Build a Next-Generation Driving Centre

NewTimeSpace News,March 11: ComfortDelGro, a leading Singaporean multi-modal transport operator, announced that it will invest over S$200 million over 30 years through its subsidiary ComfortDelGro Driving Centre to modernise Singapore's driving education, with the core initiative being the development of a Next-Generation Driving Centre at Lorong Bistari, Choa Chu Kang.

NewTimeSpace News:On March 11, 2026, ComfortDelGro announced in a public notice that it will invest over S$200 million over 30 years through its subsidiary ComfortDelGro Driving Centre to advance the modernisation of Singapore's driving education. This investment aims to address the shortage of private driving instructors and meet the market demand for high-quality driving training.

According to the notice, ComfortDelGro Driving Centre has secured a 30-year lease for the site at Lorong Bistari, Choa Chu Kang, at a cost of S$38 million to develop the Next-Generation Driving Centre (NGDC). Set to replace Bukit Batok Driving Centre by 2030, the NGDC will significantly boost training capacity.

The notice specified that the NGDC will adopt intelligent driving circuit and AI assessment technologies to reduce reliance on driving instructors, and be equipped with a full range of training facilities. It is expected to double CDC's market share in Singapore and drive the growth of the Group's related businesses. Vincent Tan, Chief Executive Officer of ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, stated that the NGDC will leverage technological empowerment to improve training efficiency and contribute to road safety in Singapore.
