The Ping An East-West Select ETF (03477.HK) closely tracks the Solactive Global Pacific Equity Select HKD Net Return Index, a net total return index weighted by freefloat market capitalisation whose constituents are securities listed on the Hong Kong Exchange and on US venues including the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE American, NYSE Arca, Nasdaq, IEX and BZX. The fund primarily adopts a full replication strategy, investing in the index securities in substantially the same weightings as the index.
Huatai Securities said that last week's US September CPI and PPI both beat expectations, lifting the odds of an October rate hike and pushing long-end US Treasury yields to a 24-year high intraday, but the subsequent pullback in the AI chain amid financing pressure and growth concerns in turn drove Treasury yields back from their highs; under AI adjustment pressure, Hong Kong stocks still warrant stage-by-stage attention to innovative drug and CXO leaders, with dividends continuing to form the base position — mainly operating assets such as railways, roads and ports — while the trend-based window for adding technology hardware still needs to wait, and internet leaders are relatively resilient but their earnings expectations have yet to stabilise, awaiting verification during the results season.
