On the news front, Tencent Holdings announced on October 14 that it had entered into subscription agreements for US$1.8 billion of US-dollar bonds and RMB2.6 billion of offshore renminbi bonds, raising about US$5.7 billion in total—its largest offshore bond sale since 2020—with subscriptions exceeding US$23 billion. Tencent's capital expenditure in the first half of 2026 was RMB96.3 billion, more than double a year earlier, mainly for computing equipment, software and data centres. Tencent is a constituent of the Hang Seng TECH Index.
The CSOP Hang Seng TECH Index ETF (03033.HK) tracks the Hang Seng TECH Index. The index covers the largest 30 Hong Kong-listed companies that are highly relevant to technology themes after screening; constituents must belong to the industrials, consumer discretionary, healthcare, financials or information technology sectors, and their businesses must be highly related to themes such as the internet (including mobile), fintech, cloud, e-commerce, digitalisation or intelligentisation. It is weighted by freefloat market capitalisation with an 8% cap on any single constituent and is reviewed quarterly. The fund adopts a full replication strategy.
Guosheng Securities believes that the medium-term upward structure of the hard-tech rally may not yet have been broken, though short-term adjustment pressure still needs to be digested; looking into mid-to-late October, the market's pricing logic will switch to "fundamental verification"—with third-quarter results being disclosed in bulk, the AI industry chain faces an important test of its prosperity, and stocks that beat expectations are likely to become the structural mainline in a corrective market.
