Haitong International believes Hong Kong stocks may dip first and then rally in October, setting off an actionable rebound supported by sentiment repair, improving earnings expectations and policy support; on allocation it recommends a barbell strategy pairing offence and defence, with the defensive leg anchored in deep-value dividend assets—China's core assets being the "essence that has been simmered out"—spanning telecom operators, power grids, electricity, coal, energy refining, chemicals and financials.
