On the news front, Hong Kong's new listing market continued to expand. Securities Times reported on October 10 that 38 A-share companies completed H-share listings in the first three quarters of 2026, twice the number for the whole of 2025; the "return to A-shares" channel for H-share issuers opened in parallel, with Lygend Resources the first to take that route on September 30 and a number of others in the pipeline; as of October 9, the A+H universe had grown to 209 companies this year.

CSOP FTSE Hong Kong Equity ETF (03443.HK) closely tracks the FTSE MPF Hong Kong Index. Compiled by FTSE Russell and weighted by free float-adjusted market capitalisation, the index comprises Hong Kong-listed HSBC Holdings together with eligible large- and mid-cap Hong Kong companies and Hong Kong-listed Chinese companies (H shares, red chips and P chips) in the FTSE All-World Index, all of which must be listed on exchanges approved by the MPFA, and it is calculated on a net total return basis; individual constituents are capped at 9% and the index had 341 constituents as of May 29, 2026.

Zheshang Securities believes Hong Kong stocks remain in the process of building a medium- to long-term bottom, with the Hang Seng TECH Index having led the decline since last October and now leading A shares into a bottoming phase that is expected to be confirmed within one to two weeks; on sector allocation it suggests focusing on sectors that have fallen the most and maintaining a balanced structure.
