Compiled by MSCI, the index covers securities listed across Asia excluding Japan, including mainland China, Hong Kong, China's Taiwan region, South Korea, India and Southeast Asia. As of 13:56 HKT on October 8, it had assets of HKD 34.477 billion, a unit NAV of HKD 90.988, a dividend yield of 0.87% and a board lot of 100 units.

Reuters reported that the 10-year US Treasury yield rose as high as 5.326% overnight, a 24-year high. Asian markets broadly came under pressure as technology shares weakened.
