NewTimeSpace News: Hong Kong innovative drug shares opened higher this morning. As of 09:57 HKT on September 29, 2026, CSOP Hang Seng Biotech ETF (03174.HK) traded at HK$3.914, up 2.89%, with turnover of HK$2,176,400, volume of 564,000 units and a turnover rate of 0.22%.

The ETF is managed by CSOP Asset Management Limited and tracks the Hang Seng Biotech Index, which covers biotech companies listed in Hong Kong. As of 09:57 HKT on September 29, 2026, it had assets of HK$972 million, a net asset value of HK$3.800 per unit and a board lot of 100 units.

Reported by Zhitong Finance, Summit Therapeutics, the overseas partner of Akeso (09926.HK), announced that AstraZeneca will make a US$2 billion strategic equity investment in it and will lead clinical studies of Akeso's first-in-class PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody ivonescimab combined with AstraZeneca's CLDN18.2 antibody-drug conjugate in multiple gastrointestinal tumours. 

CITIC Securities noted in a research report that China's innovative drugs have seen rapid domestic uptake in 2026, with leading drugmakers posting fast revenue growth on new products and biopharma companies gradually returning to profit; overseas pipelines are entering Phase III and registration read-outs, and with several major international academic conferences approaching, many pipelines are entering a dense period of data catalysts.
