The index selects leading companies across three key segments—5G network infrastructure, terminal equipment, and application scenarios—from the pool of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares, covering niche tracks including communication equipment, optical modules/components, RF antennas, PCBs, cloud computing, and IoT.

The CSI 5G Communication Thematic Index comprises 50 securities selected from listed companies in the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets whose businesses are closely related to 5G infrastructure construction, terminal device manufacturing, or application scenario development, serving as a barometer for the overall 5G industry performance.

On the news front, Innolight announced that Q1 2026 operating revenue reached RMB 19.496 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 192.12%; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company came in at RMB 5.735 billion, up 262.28% year-on-year.
